I’m Roger Wade and I’ve decided to write this bio in the first person.
I’m currently 45 years old, originally from the Los Angeles area, and I’m on an indefinite backpacking trip in early 2010, starting in Vietnam.
I’ve had many careers in my life, most recently as a travel writer for a network of websites based in Portland, Oregon. I’ve transitioned back to the freelance world recently, and as a way of living cheaply while I accumulate new inspiration, I’ve decided to put my stuff in storage and head out with just my backpack and laptop computer. I’m currently putting together my new project, called Price of Travel, which should soon be a great resource for people trying to figure out where they can afford to go as well as which times of year might work best for them.
